I was lucky enough to be allowed to photograph the beautiful staircase in the wonderful Oakwood House in Maidstone today and this is one of the images from that trip. I have to say it is a stunning place set in a beautiful park and school complex. If you have never seen it i would definitely suggest taking a look as this wonderful old building.
When it came to painting this picture of the famous actor and Martial Artist Tony Jaa i did not expect the smoke or dragons breath to be so time consuming. The entire painting was based on an original photograph of Tony Jaa but in the end it proved to be a very time consuming piece of work indeed. Approximately 8 hours in total with around halt than for just the smoke. In the end however i managed to pull it of and create an almost identical painting to the original image but obviously with my own take on it. Entitled "DRAGONS BREATH" and painted in CS6 using a graphic tablet.
I have to admit i am surprised by the sheer response to my latest work. The cheeky and fun paintings are becoming rather popular with clients and i am now getting all kinds of requests from people wanting my paintings of them doing some cool and funny things. I suppose it is something new and different from the norm and it does make a nice refreshing change to paint something like this now and again..
Well after such a busy few weeks it was nice to have the day to myself where i could just enjoy myself and play around with some new techniques and equipment in the studio. My recent image was created from 4 photographs. One of the smoke which was created by back lighting lots of cigarette smoke and then 3 individual shots of myself which were all merged together in CS6 to create this fun image..
What can i say. The official Maidstone Harley Davidson Easter Open Day was a fabulous success. Granted it looked like it was going to be a disaster as it started snowing rather heavily from the beginning but the weather soon cleared and the bikers started to flood in with a visit from both the Invicta and the 1066 charters. A great event and a fantastic day.
Was rather pleased to receive and email this morning stating that i have been invited to the Maidstone Visual Artists next meeting in Maidstone with the opportunity to showcase some of my work. Time to seriously think about updating my portfolio with some of my more recent work i think. A fantastic opportunity to not only meet like minded people but to also showcase my work in and around Maidstone......
Another of my recent digital hand paintings of a beautiful Rhodesian Ridgeback portraying their famous curiosity especially when faced with strangers. Painted in CS6 using a graphic tablet and pen from one of my original studio photographs.

Another from me recent set of digital hand paintings. Again the image was supplied by my client and then the image was digitally hand painted
My latest digital hand painting of a beautiful young lady putting on her earring . Painted from an original photograph which was supplied by my client and then painted in CS6 using a graphic tablet and pen. This is probably one of my favorite paintings to date and i enjoyed watching the painting develop.
